Honeycutt Girls

As you may well know now, I have twin girls. I LOVE girls, I am a girl and before I got pregnant I wanted a girl. It's only natural I think. So when we found out we were having twins I thought for sure it was a boy and a girl. A couple weeks before the reveal Husband thought it was two girls. I thought that's not possible, but maybe. Our friends were pregnant with twin boys, so maybe the universe needed us to even it up. Sure enough it was twin girls. Even though husband had been predicting that, he still couldn't believe it.  I, of course, was elated. I'm not kidding when I say he walked around in a funk for two solid weeks. He was in and out of the funk for the next oh…. year and a half. Fast forward to this week. My husband's brother and his wife are expecting their first baby.  Most bets were on it was a boy. First, we need a little boy in the family and second, someone needs to carry on the Honeycutt name. Then there is the fact that I have two of everything girl I can pass on to a little girl and save them so much money. Little Girl it is! We are all so excited. Honestly when it comes down to it, we will love the baby the same if it's a boy or girl. Just want a healthy happy Honeycutt.

So, photographing for your family is almost like being an accountant 40+ hours a week then doing your families' taxes on your time off. (Insert sarcastic font. ALMOST, it's really not that bad.)  Everyone wants you to bring your camera though. I don't mind for events that I can capture more than a snapshot, but now that I have kids I like to actually be in the family photos with my children. Oh those motherless twins (Reason number one I hire a professional to take family portraits, it's the only photos I'm ever in with my kids).  So for random family snapshots, we all own a camera for that. Doesn't every phone have a camera? This was a real occasion that called for MY camera and lens. I was happy to be apart of it since these two had no idea what gender baby they were having and wanted to find out with everyone else. One person knew of course to prepare the box, but she was a vault.  The reaction on their faces is priceless. Check out the slideshow of the Honeycutt baby gender reveal.
